    My fish are nuts

I have a tank (about one gallon) with 5 tetras and a few dozen little pond snails.  I just bought a small ornament cave for the tetras cause I'm hoping they'll be less spaztastic if they have a nice place to hide at times and the stupid this only fits one way in the tank, and I have to turn the tank around backwards just to see anything!  I have a feeling they'll be staying in the cave for a good long while.

My snails I may have to get rid of, as much as I love watching them randomly float upwards in the tank, they're starting to reproduce again and I'm pushing my tank as it is.  I may keep one, I have one that's a lot bigger than the rest that I may keep.  Oh well.  It's either get rid of them or scrape eggs off the sides of the tank and still get rid of snails.

After college I may invest in a larger tank, much larger like a 10 or 15 gallon.  though i can't have snails then because they eat the glue stuff that holds them together.  Also I need to really start reading how big fish grow to be, I bought a plectosomus and had to take him back cause they grow 20+ inches.

I wish everyone has a wonderful day! Blessed be!

Greetings Rebekah. I use to have a 55 gallon tank, and I just loved it so much. I had to move and had to disassemble it. This broke my heart as I had to give my fish away. I moved into the home that I purchased and it is full to the limit with my things. I couldn't put the tank back up and I really miss it. Just reading about your tank, makes my heart yern for another one. I use to also have tetras, I enjoyed watching them and the others swim around in a huge tank.

If you are like me you will start "collecting" tanks from garage sales and stuff! I have a tank (tag sale for $5 bucks!) that I think is a 15g. with one of my Eastern Painted turtle in it here at college. Granted it is not a fish tank, but I have those back at home. We had the problem with snail reproducing too in our large tank with the Red-ear Slider turtle, but Scott (the turtle) ate them all....plus the snails in the end. Good luck!
    darkly yours,
